Tefo Tapela-Mafoko is the current Group Strategy & Reporting Manager of Old Mutual Botswana, responsible for the review, execution and tracking of the company strategy. Tefo joined Old Mutual Botswana in 2016 and was part of the team that setup Old Mutual Life Botswana.

Prior to her current role, Tefo was a Strategy Analyst for Old Mutual Africa Regions, supporting a portfolio of 12 countries at the time. In this role, her core delivery included strategy management, business planning, research and analysis and corporate development, amongst others. Tefo also has a strong Projects background in Old Mutual, having garnered several awards during her tenure in Projects, both at an individual level and at a team level. She has managed both country projects and regional (SADC projects) successfully. Tefo was instrumental in the setting up of the Botswana Projects Office to the fully fledged and capable team it is today, and is building up the Strategy Office capabilities.

Tefo holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of East London, a Chief Strategy Officer certification from the European International University, and a Bachelor of Finance from the University of Botswana. She also holds several project management certifications, including the Lean Portfolio Management certification from the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
